ABOUT

Hey there. I am Yirnick van Dijk, AKA Krokus Autismus. Music lover and guitarist in heart and kidneys.

Diagnosed in 2006/2007 with PDD-NOS (DSM-IV). I was 5 years old. Due to the diagnosis the kindergarten I was on advised my parents to go to another school than they planned me to go. So when I was 6, I started at another school designed for children with learning difficulties, autism, AD(H)D and other special needs.

I set Krokus Autismus up in 2023 as kind of a joke at first. But I am striving for more serious content to be made. The first release is also meant as self-mockery about me having autism.

 

Krokus Autismus is now more focussing on what is going on in the head of people with autism and I like to express that through music. And I hope other people with autism will feel the same as I do.

​

Themes of releases are heavily influenced by my (special) interests. ANALOG HORROR is a very good example of that. I released this to express my love for themed media like horror movies and horror games. ANALOG HORROR is also very much influenced by movies like Malignant and The Thing. And stories in games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and musically even by DOOM.

There is enough space for new stuff. SO keep an eye on my socials. And give underground bands like me a little nod of recognition.
